From June 1st to June 4th, four delegates from Elon’s RSA had to opportunity to attend the National Association of College and University Residence Halls’ (NACURH) 2012 conference at University of Colorado at Boulder. They had an amazing time getting to explore the beautiful CU campus, learning about different programming ideas, and meeting people from all over the country! (They even got to meet some international residents from countries such as Canada and South Africa.)
Throughout the weekend, the delegates got the opportunity to experience a whole different part of the country. They got to see a live street performance while walking around downtown Boulder right after they enjoyed a quick lunch at The Sink (a restaurant featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives). On top of that, they got to enjoy the beautiful scenery at CU. The campus couldn’t be prettier with flagstone buildings and the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop!
While the delegation did enjoy the more touristy aspects of the trip, they didn’t forget their reason for being in Colorado : the conference. They certainly enjoyed the programming sessions. Some of their favorites included the one focusing on antibullying that focused on Mean Girls and the one that featured everything a 90s kid loves (Nickelodeon cartoons and boy bands). CU also provided some amazing guest speakers for our delegates to listen to and learn from.
All in all, NACURH 2012 was definitely a success! There was so much excitement packed into those few days in Colorado that we sent the delegates home happy but exhausted!
